Our founders, Shmarya and Lainie, began dating in their hometown of Montreal. Like many Montrealers, they often included a trip to the local bakery on their Saturday night dates, picking up a dozen hot-from-the-oven bagels, and finishing half on the way home. Lainie ultimately won Shmarya’s heart – through his stomach: she wooed him with her delicious, healthy muffins. Unable to resist those muffins… and Lainie, he proposed within the year!


Healthy eating and exercise were always a way of life for Lainie. Her love of cooking and baking evolved into a passion for experimenting with recipes and making them healthier by cutting down on oil and sugar, incorporating whole wheat flour and other good grains, and leaving out hydrogenated fats. To share her love of healthy cooking, Lainie began teaching cooking classes in her home.


First of all, we start with the healthiest and finest ingredients. No packaged mixes or hydrogenated fats, or preservatives in our products. Each muffin is baked from scratch. We steam our own pumpkin, chop granny smith apples, grate carrot and zucchini… you get the picture and you will definitely taste the difference.
